George Ballas, OAM is not a populist maverick and not a past Councilor and will:

  • Weigh up the facts and figures to reach decisions without grid locking Geelong’s advancement.
  • Do his utmost to make the City of Greater Geelong even GREATER.
  • Be a voice for all your local Council concerns.
  • Be a strong independent voice at Council.
  • Support any properly funded and tested initiatives for the betterment of Geelong.  Especially Tourism related projects and events that will magnify our capacity to attract more visitors, including the current idea to extend the Waterfront precinct with aspects similar to those of Thessaloniki, which I sighted personally less than a year ago.
  • Undertake additional Governance training, where appropriate and necessary.
  • Pay special emphasis to the underprivileged citizens from Non English Speaking Backgrounds (NESB) and individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities (CALD) which are very representative of Geelong’s diversity.
  • Ensure a personal high standard of Governance is achieved.
